Hamas and Jordan

May 12, 2006

Almost all my friends don’t buy the government's accusations for Hamas, and maybe am the only one who said it’s a possibility but I can't be sure, in fact what the government is doing doesn’t help at all, at first they declared that Hamas was moving weapons through Jordan and at that time they said they wont continue using the media to show evidences, instead they are going to handle it with the Palestinian.

A meeting took place but the Palestinian government didn’t show up, and yesterday Mr. Joudeh said that they used the TV to show the confessions of the so called Hamas members because the Palestinian government didn’t participate. So why to use the media now? Just to convince people? Well it didn’t help.

My personal opinion about the whole thing that am lost, I don’t believe Hamas that nothing happened or the Jordanian government that Hamas was planning to attack Jordanian people and tourists .why? Because I don’t think that Hamas is that stupid, and I don’t remember it has ever planned to attack anything but Israeli targets. Why to change its strategies now, at this critical time when Hamas is looking for any kind of help from Islamic and Arabic countries, would it attack the closest one?

Hamas seems to have branches that do not fall under a single leadership i.e. the Palestinian government.

I dont remember them saying they wouldnt use the media. They did say they would deal directly with the Palestinians to which they did, including Abbas and more recently a Palestinian delegation that was sent to Amman to view the evidence even though Hamas declined to be a part of it. The government chooses to reveal more evidence now because many people demanded they do so. Lastly, according the confessions they were not targetting random Jordanian people and the government never said they did. According the confession the targets included a bus of Jordanian members of the GID (or “mukhabarat”), not a bus of tourists.

nar: i know about that, i was talking about Hamas el da5el as they say.

Nas: yeah they said at first they wont show evidence in newspapers and they will do it using the official ways by contacting Palestinian government. and who said anything about a bus of tourists. But they said they planned to attack tourists along side with the mokhabrat man and sami khori.
