Egyptian Eid

January 15, 2007

I went to Egypt in the Eid,but this time using the so called “speed boat” well it was somehow speed but the procedure to get on the boat was slower than an old turtle looking for her way.everything was a  mess starting from the office (Amman) of the so called “el jesr el arabi” which by the way doesn’t accept money unless it was US dollars ( and yes its called Arabic bridge :D),you get a ticket with no seat number and no trip schedule too,the only thing that this ticket says is that you can use it within 6 months.

the weather was very bad in Jordan at that time so we decided to go to Ababa somehow earlier than what we planned, the bus took a different path and we were asked for our IDs 5 or 6 times,we spent our time in Ababa here and there with a friend, and early morning we went to the happy port aqapa port which was full of people;mostly Egyptians and you have to see how they are treated just one seen of a man hitting them with a stick to make a queue,as a Jordanian you get somehow special treatment(in this case the special treatment was dealing with you as a human).

after some problems and delay we managed to get on that boat which lack any kind of order or information (ya3ni ya reet kan fe control ba9 kan bekon a7san lesa) we reached nwebe3 about 3 pm or so,there you felt that Aqapa port was number one with respect to order and knowing what you supposed to do.

enough for now,i’ll come back with more when i have a chance
